Team Leader – Warehouse Setting

Summary:

The position description of the Warehouse Team Leader includes overseeing Warehouse personnel, guiding, organizing, motivating, and delegating the workload ensuring that the team works together delivering quality customer service; and performing shipping and receiving responsibilities that include arranging deliveries and shipments within the Warehouse, and completing the daily metering and dispatch of outgoing goods and orders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties/Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Team Leader supports senior level management in the fulfillment of goods produced and received for sale to the customer base. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with training and development of Warehouse personnel.
  • Schedule and monitor courier trips ensuring efficient travel routes.
  • Monitor employee performance and attendance, ensuring maximum proficiency and productivity.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties, recording and checking quantity and quality of shipment received, inputting received shipment into computer system and forwarding notification to recipient.
  • Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the purchase order (or best practice).
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following prescribed safety regulations.
  • Processing and sorting all incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Completion of bills of lading and customs paperwork.
  • Attendance and punctuality are critical.
QUALIFICATIONS

Schedule
  • Monday to Friday
  • 5pm to 2am (subject to change, to meet operational requirements)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience in leadership roles.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
