Job Title:
Material Receiver/Handler
Position Overview
The Material Receiver/Handler is responsible for managing the receipt and handling of construction materials at the job site. This role ensures accurate unloading, verification, and documentation of materials, while maintaining clear communication with the project management team regarding inventory status.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling
- Safely unload materials delivered to the construction site.
- Inspect and verify materials against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Organize and store materials in designated areas to maintain site efficiency and safety.
- Inventory Management
- Record and track all received materials.
- Update inventory logs and communicate material status to the project management team.
- Report discrepancies or damaged materials promptly.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and inventory levels.
- Prepare and submit daily or weekly inventory reports as required.
- Technology & Software
- Utilize Oracle-based receiving software for material tracking.
- Perform basic data entry and reporting using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Learn and adapt to new software tools as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience
- Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations preferred.
- Familiarity with construction site operations is a plus.
- Skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn and use Oracle-based inventory systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move materials safely.
- Certifications
- Must be forklift certified or have the ability to become certified.
- Other Requirements
- Commitment to safety protocols and site regulations.
- Ability to work in outdoor and fast-paced environments.
