Salary:
This is a part-time only position. The pay for this part-time position is $22.50 per hour, based on educational attainment, and benefits are not available. Time worked per week will not exceed nineteen (19) hours.
Morning and Evening Positions Available (Maximum 19 hours per week)
The primary task of an Adult Education Instructor at Chattahoochee Valley Community College is to instruct students in activities designed to promote the development of basic academic and employability skills. Instruction will be required in the areas of language, writing, science, social studies, and mathematics.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Directly related experience in teaching, tutoring or individualized, self-paced instruction, including experience teaching English, science, social studies, math, or business
- Effective oral and written communication skills; proficiency in the English language
- Competent use of the Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- TESOL or ESL certification strongly preferred
- Foreign language fluency

The Recruitment and Selection Committee will screen all applicants for the position and select applicants for interviews. Interviews may consist of the following activities: question/answer session and/or skills demonstration. Upon completion of the interviews, the Committee will recommend a finalist for the position to the appropriate dean and the President, after which final employment decisions will be made.
