The Operations Recon Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus/Roswell GA or Birmingham AL. This role is responsible for performing daily reconciliation of financial accounts and transactions, investigating variances, and resolving discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner. The specialist reviews data and reports from multiple systems, identifies patterns or anomalies, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure operational integrity and compliance with bank policies.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining detailed documentation, supporting process improvements, assisting with internal and external audits, and providing clear status updates to management. The role involves working closely with operations, finance, and frontline banking teams to support efficient, risk-aware transaction processing.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and apply problem-solving approaches.
- Effective communication skills, including clear written documentation and professional verbal interaction with cross-functional teams.
- Experience or aptitude in operations management, with a focus on process consistency, accuracy, and adherence to policies and regulations.
- Project management skills to support or lead small process-improvement initiatives, including planning, tracking, and reporting progress.
- Customer and service orientation, including the ability to support internal partners and, when needed, assist frontline sales teams with reconciliation-related questions.
- Proficiency with banking or financial systems, spreadsheets, and standard office software; familiarity with reconciliation tools is a plus.
- Attention to detail, high level of integrity, and commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
- Relevant experience in banking operations, accounting, or finance preferred; associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
