SYSTEM PROGRAMMER ANALYST II
The Assessor Department Human Resources will accept applications and required supplemental forms for the position of Systems Programmer Analyst II (System Development) beginning Monday, October 1, 2007 through Friday, October 5, 2007 or until the Department receives the first 50 applications, whichever comes first. Position InformationThe Orange County Assessor Department is looking for an individual with a minimum of three years computer systems/programming experience related to major systems development. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in writing stored procedures in SQL Server 2005.
Minimum Requirements- Windows 2000, Client/Server and Web based experience.
- JAVA, Visual
- DB2, SQL.
- Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Access, Excel).
- Have a sound conceptual understanding of business process requirements and system functions.
- Use creativity and innovation.
- Perform program development and maintenance.
- Handle multiple assignments concurrently in a fast paced environment.
- Perform independently with minimum supervision.
- Provide excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment.
- Provide excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Provide excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
At least three years of progressive responsibility in the development and maintenance of application systems.
EducationCandidate must have completed 24 units of college level or equivalent course work in computer system/programming analysis, which demonstrates he/she has a sound conceptual understanding of systems analysis and/or programming analysis in the development and maintenance of application systems.
Position Physical And Mental RequirementsBody strength sufficient to lift up to 25 pounds; independent body mobility to move around a standard office and to drive a vehicle; vision sufficient to read a computer screen and to drive a vehicle; manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard; stamina to sit for up to one hour at a time; speak and hear well enough to converse understandably on the phone and in person, and to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical end users.
License/CertificateRequired
Possession of a valid California Driver License may be required.
SELECTION PROCEDUREApplications will be evaluated by the Assessor Department to identify applicants whose experience is most closely related to the stated qualifications. The candidates meeting minimum qualifications and passing supplemental screening will be referred to the next step.
Panel InterviewCandidates will be interviewed and rated by a panel of job knowledge experts. Each candidate's rating will be based on responses to a series of structured questions designed to elicit the candidate's qualifications for the job.
ELIGIBLE LISTAfter all the test procedures have been completed, the Assessor Department will establish an eligible list of qualified candidates.
