The CNC Machinist II will be responsible for operating CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) Machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of operations to produce various metal parts from common and exotic metals. The CNC Machinist II assembles, repairs and fabricates parts and components on mills and lathes. The CNC Machinist II would be responsible for loading and unloading metal parts, changing tooling, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings for the needed specifications.

The CNC Machinist II reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to determine the precise specifications, dimensions and tolerance levels of finished product. The CNC Machinist II will ensure safety, quality, and schedule requirements are met daily. The CNC Machinist will report to the Lead CNC Machinist.

• Advanced skills in reading and interpreting work orders and blueprints using metric and standard measurements to machine parts accurately within tight tolerances per customer specs.
• Perform inspection of equipment, materials and products.
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
• Input the part specifications to program the machines to run parts.
• Monitor the machines while they execute the tasks and makes any necessary adjustments to programs and run times.
• Choose, change, and load the correct cutting tools for the job which include tool length pre-sets and Renishaw probes.
• Learn how to create CAD/CAM files or G&M codes.
