As a Senior Accountant your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Process and reconcile complex financial transactions, ensuring compliance with established policies and government regulations.

- Monitor and analyze accounting documents for accuracy and adherence to federal, state, and organizational standards.

- Review and approve journal entries, financial records, and transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance.

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records, providing solutions to ensure data integrity.

- Prepare and distribute operational and specialized financial reports, compiling data from various sources.

- Collaborate with departments to address contract, funding, payment, and budgeting matters effectively.

- Research and resolve issues related to payables, receivables, and supporting financial documentation.

- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial reports, contributing to strategic planning efforts.

- Stay informed about relevant public housing policies and accounting practices to ensure compliance and optimization.

- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and organizational data.

Requirements

The ideal Senior Accountant will have the following:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with four or more years of relevant accounting experience.

- Knowledge of public sector accounting principles and federal housing program regulations.

- Proficiency in financial software systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft Excel.

- Experience with general ledger management, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.

- Skilled in preparing month-end close reports and conducting account reconciliations.

- Ability to interpret and apply government accounting rules and organizational policies.

- Strong analytical skills to review financial documents and resolve discrepancies.

- Excellent communication abilities to explain technical financial information to various stakeholders.
