Controller
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for a mid-sized Law Firm. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, optimizing processes, and supporting leadership with accurate and timely financial insights. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a proactive, hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Partner with leadership to provide financial analysis, reporting, and strategic insights
- Oversee cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
- Manage external relationships including auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners
- Monitor and improve operational efficiencies, including system and process enhancements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required
- Legal Industry experience required in a Partnership LLP
- Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting operations
- Strong knowledge of partnership accounting, including capital accounts and tax structures, is a must
- Experience with ERP systems (Aderant or similar preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
$150,000-$175,000
