** Controller
* * to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial strategy for a growing organization. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the accounting function, managing the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring compliance with GAAP, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing financial insights to executive leadership.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with experience managing financial operations, developing accounting teams, improving processes, and driving organizational growth. This position offers an opportunity to serve as a trusted business partner while helping scale the finance and accounting function.
** Key Responsibilities*
* + Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
+ Prepare, review, and present financial statements, management reports, and key performance metrics.
+ Oversee general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management functions.
+ Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and accounting transactions.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
+ Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis activities.
+ Monitor cash flow, working capital, profitability, and overall financial performance.
+ Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to executive leadership.
+ Lead annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultants.
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
+ Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, ERP platforms, financial processes, and reporting capabilities.
+ Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
+ Partner with operational leaders to support business planning, growth initiatives, and decision-making.
+ Support mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and other strategic projects.
+ Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, reporting accuracy, and scalability across the accounting function.
** Qualifications*
* ** Required Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management responsibility.
+ Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
+ Demonstrated success establishing and maintaining internal controls.
+
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and reporting.
+
Experience with ERP and accounting systems such as:
+ Net Suite
+ Oracle
+ SAP
+ Microsoft Dynamics
+ Sage
+ Quick Books Enterprise
+ Similar enterprise accounting platforms
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
+ Ability to balance strategic financial leadership with hands-on accounting responsibilities.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
+ Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
+ MBA or advanced finance/accounting degree.
+ Experience leading audit engagements.
+ Experience supporting high-growth organizations, acquisitions, or ERP implementations.
+ Public accounting background preferred.
