Agency Description

Municipal Court Criminal Coding Unit is charged with processing and maintaining all non-traffic summary citations issued by the Philadelphia Police Department and all Special Police agencies. The criminal coding unit's initial involvement with case flow management is through manual case creation in the Common Pleas Case Management System (CPCMS) and new case filings transferred via the electronic interface from the Preliminary Arraignment Reporting System (PARS) to CPCMS.

Coding staff are responsible for data entry of final dispositions, bench warrants, quality control, and record management.

Job Description

Position Summary

This is a full-time in-person position requiring work directly with court personnel, and judges in the Philadelphia Courts.

This is work of a training nature, developing knowledge and skills in court administration. Employees participate as learners in phases of court activities, cross-train in various departments, and are assigned based on aptitude. As experience is gained and the full performance level neared, a progressively expanding range and complexity of projects are assigned.

Essential Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

* Performs a variety of office tasks in the assigned phase of activity, such as data entry, gathering and analyzing data, recommending action, and preparing reports and other materials.

* Works closely with the department supervisor on various case management projects.

* Monitors the accuracy of courtroom calendars by accessing and reviewing various reports in the case management applications.

* Quality controls case scheduling to various calendars, adhering to established policies and procedures.

* Works directly with other departments regarding case management issues.

* Prepare various statistical reports as requested by the department manager.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Performs related work as required.
