THE POSITION
The Administrative Assistant 1 position with the Department of Labor & Industry offers the opportunity to provide administrative support to the Director’s Office and the Bureau of Workforce Development Administration (BWDA) by coordinating day-to-day activities and supporting program delivery. Key duties include researching and analyzing administrative operations, preparing reports and recommendations, developing work standards, and creating documents and training materials for use by Bureau staff, the Department, and partner agencies.
The role also assists with special projects, supports meetings and communications, and performs liaison and public relations functions. This is a great opportunity to support a mission that helps communities across the Commonwealth.
This position provides essential administrative support to help the bureau operate smoothly and stay coordinated with staff and partners. It plays a key role in organizing information, supporting activities, and ensuring efficient daily operations. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Administrative Support:
Provide assistance with daily office operations and manage routine administrative tasks - Meeting Coordination:
Arrange schedules, prepare materials, and document discussions to support organized meetings - Communication Assistance:
Draft and review written materials for internal and external audiences - Training Support:
Coordinate logistics and prepare materials for training sessions and presentations - Record Management:
Maintain files, documents, and centralized records for accurate and accessible information

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This position requires federally compliant identification such as a U.S. Passport, REAL , or Military the time of conditional job offer.
