Administrative Coordinator For Academic Accommodations (3-Year Limited Term)
The Coordinator for Academic Accommodations ("Coordinator") serves in several capacities to support the implementation of academic accommodations in accordance with the expectations and recommendations set forth by the Manager of Academic Accommodations ("Manager"). The Coordinator collaborates with the Manager and staff to facilitate processes in the Momentum Center for Accommodated Testing ("test center"). The Coordinator supports the Accommodations Specialists in their roles of handling note-taking services, scheduling communication access services (ASL interpreting and CART transcription) and miscellaneous tasks related to the administrative infrastructure of the test center.
The Coordinator represents a critical role in ensuring implementation of accommodations to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Momentum Center for Accommodated Testing Support
- Assist in printing and packaging of exams
- Sort and file paperwork associated with administered exams
- Oversee return of exams to instructors, i.e pick up exams from the Weingarten Center, hand deliver exams to professors' offices, scan/secure share exams
- Assist students in handling late test requests
- Review and approve test reservations
- Serve as back-up support in testing situations, especially during high volume times
Note-Taking Services
- Review note-taking requests and handle Messenger Pigeon accounts
- Check for uploaded notes to Accommodate
Accommodate Database
- Participate in maintenance of Accommodate and training sessions offered by Symplicity to maximize the benefits of Accommodate.
Assorted Administrative Tasks
- Oversee email accounts associated with implementation of accommodations, i.e. test email, notes email, etc.
- Oversee Box folder for Accommodation Implementation team
- Handle administrative tasks assigned by the Manager of Academic Accommodations
Professional Development
- Participate in Weingarten Center and Disability Services professional development and departmental meetings.
- High School Grad/GE Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask
- Detailed oriented
