This position plays an important role in supporting the daily clerical operations of the County Assistance Office by handling information, records, and program-related tasks. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Processing:
Access CIS systems to complete file clearance, register applications, and update case information - Case Initiation:
Enter application data into clerical transaction systems to prepare case details for income maintenance activities - Clerical Transactions:
Process standalone transactions, update demographic information, and reconcile case data using CIS - Reapplication Tasks:
Prepare and send notices, schedule appointments, and handle IEVS information for client reapplications - EBT Support:
Monitor EBT card activities and investigate issues that affect benefit distribution - Controlled Documents:
Follow audit procedures to track, secure, and properly dispose of controlled items and supplies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Telework:
This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown, PA.
The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. - Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
or - Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Montgomery County. If no eligible candidates who live within Montgomery County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
