Role DescriptionThe Project Estimator is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Luzerne, PA. This position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for excavation and construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Day‑to‑day tasks include reviewing project plans and specifications, conducting site visits, analyzing bids and proposals, and collaborating with project managers and field teams to align estimates with project requirements.
The Project Estimator will also assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and updating estimates as project scopes change. This role involves ongoing communication with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure estimates are clear, competitive, and aligned with company standards.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Management and Budgeting to develop, monitor, and adjust project financial plans.
- Candidates should possess construction‑focused skills in Construction Estimating and Project Estimation to prepare detailed and accurate project cost proposals.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and vendors.
- Relevant experience in excavation, civil construction, or a related field is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management abilities with attention to detail.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- Commitment to safety standards and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
