We invite applications for tenure-track faculty in biostatistics to join the Temple University Barnett College of Public Health Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics starting in summer 2026. Areas of interest include spatial statistics and statistical methodologies underlying spatial data, high-dimensional and big data (e.g., data from wearable devices, electronic health records), Bayesian statistics, and learning algorithms as novel data analytical tools in applications in public health.
Our department has a dynamic faculty body with highly interdisciplinary research across the College of Public Health as well as Temple University. Additionally, the successful candidate will participate as a member of the Department's Biostatistics Core, which offers comprehensive biostatistical consultation and computational services to researchers in the College of Public Health and throughout Temple University, as well as those in other institutions.
The Core also actively participates with community engagement through various educational activities. We expect the successful candidate to collaborate with other faculty, and those with a successful track record in data-driven statistical methodologies are encouraged to apply.
Tenure-track faculty are expected to engage in research, teaching, and service, with research being their primary focus. Teaching may include didactic coursework at the undergraduate or graduate level, depending upon department needs and faculty expertise, as well as mentorship of graduate researchers
QUALIFICATIONS. A doctorate in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field is required, with preference for candidates with experience in the areas of interest listed above. Faculty will be hired at the rank of assistant professor. Preferred candidates currently hold the rank of assistant professor or are completing/have recently completed a postdoctoral position with external funding. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with credentials and experience.
