Workforce Development at the Community College of Philadelphia is seeking part-time Instructors with experience teaching adult learners technical welding skills. This program prepares students for advanced manufacturing opportunities by training them in the following topics:
Occupational Safety;
Principles of Welding;
Welding, Drawing and Symbol Interpretation;
Visual Examination;
Inspection and Testing;
Shielded Metal ARC Welding (SMAW);
Manual Oxy-fuel Gas Cutting (OFC);
Mechanized Oxy-fuel Gas Cutting;
Manual Air Carbon Arc Cutting;
Brazing and Soldering. Classes are during daytime and/or evening hours at Community College of Philadelphia.
This part-time teaching role includes the potential for a faculty member to be considered for a full instructional load in the future. Candidates who are interested in potential full-time welding teaching opportunities are encouraged to apply.

Specific Responsibilities
* Plan, develop, and revise the educational curriculum for the Welding Technology program.
* Teach adult learners technical welding skills.
* Maintain and update all student competency and skills demonstration paperwork.
* Demonstrate appropriate use of existing technology to further learning for students. Incorporate instructional technology to support the learning process.
* Manage the learning environment with a student-centered focus. Implement diverse teaching and learning strategies that accommodate the learning styles of students.
* Maintain office hours to meet with students outside of the classroom and respond to questions or concerns.
