Instructional Assistants Needed

At the present time, the Norristown Area School District is seeking up to eight instructional assistants to support a four-week summer camp program running Monday through Thursday during July 2026. Position details:
Effective July 2026, temporary instructional assistant positions are available within the Norristown Area School District for the duration of the summer camp program. These positions support school-age students in a structured summer learning environment.

Schedule:

Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM (5 hours per day) Four-week program in July 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed)

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred Experience working with children in an educational or structured setting preferred Current clearances (PA Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprints) required Ability to commit to the full duration of the program

Duties & responsibilities:

Support teachers in delivering instruction and implementing planned activities Provide small group and/or individual student support as directed Assist with classroom management and organization Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Support student needs, including those requiring additional academic or behavioral support

Hourly rate: (Based on years of experience) 0 - 9 yrs experience = $18.72 10 - 13 yrs experience = $20.57 14 - 17 yrs experience = $22.41 18 - 25 yrs experience = $24.26 Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $18.72 Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $22.41
