Job DescriptionThe New Hope-Solebury School District is seekingan
Anticipated Long-Term Substitute (LTS) Instructional Assistant
to support the Upper Elementary School in the School Year.
Participate in daily and long-range instructional planning through consistent communication with classroom teachers.
Provide direct instructional support to students in small groups or individual settings to reinforce learning concepts.
Administer student assessments and assist with data collection for progress monitoring as directed.
Maintain active supervision of students in the classroom, hallways, and other school environments to ensure safety.
Assist with the supervision of students during non‑instructional periods, including lunch and transportation (bus duty) as needed.
Maintain accurate and confidential record‑keeping regarding student performance and behavioral data in compliance with District policy.
Implement necessary supports, adaptations, and modifications for students with disabilities to ensure access to the curriculum.
Assist students with activities of daily living (ADL) and personal care needs as assigned, which may include hygiene, grooming, and mobility assistance.
Perform physical transfers (e.g., to and from wheelchairs) and provide positioning support to facilitate student participation in general and special education settings.
Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct and team/classroom expectations.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Director of Special Education.
High School Diploma or equivalent required (completion of at least two years of post-secondary study or Associate’s degree to meet "Highly Qualified" status).
Ability to work effectively and empathetically with students across various developmental stages (K-12).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain professional confidentiality.
Physical ability to assist with student mobility and personal care tasks as outlined in student IEPs.
Requirements: Current and valid Pennsylvania state‑mandated clearances (Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114) and all required District certifications.
