The School of Business and Technology at Holy Family University is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach CMIS
210:
Web Design & E-Commerce on Tuesday and Thursdays from 8-9:30 AM in the Spring 2026 semester beginning on 1/12/2026 through 5/11/2026 on the Northeast Philadelphia Main Campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong background, demonstrated expertise in technology, and a passion for engaging and inspiring students.

All employees must understand the mission of Catholic higher education and be committed to the core values, mission, goals and objectives of Holy Family University.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain academic excellence in the classroom.
  • Conduct face to face classroom instruction following the University's academic standards and guidelines.
  • Facilitate active learning experiences and practical exercises to enhance student comprehension and application of technology concepts.
  • Provide grades and feedback to students in a timely manner.
  • Respond to email correspondence from Deans, Coordinators, and students in a timely manner.
  • Use the Learning Management System (CANVAS) appropriately for all classes.
  • Utilize advising software (CRM Advise) to identify student issues and alert support offices within the university in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Management, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field. Doctoral degree preferred; practical job experience equally considered.

Example technologies taught include:

  • Fundamental Web Design principles (UX/UI, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Server-side programming concepts (including Active Server Pages, or modern equivalents like PHP, Python/Django, or Node.js) for dynamic content.
  • Database Integration (e.g., SQL) for managing user accounts, product catalogs, and transaction data.

Official transcripts from undergraduate and graduate institutions and three letters of recommendation will be required upon hire.
