Position Summary
- The Department of Global Languages, Literatures, and Perspectives on our Philadelphia campus is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach literature courses for the BUSCA Program. Specifically, BUSCA students take LIT
100 (Translingual and Transcultural Literature), LIT
150 (Modern European and Latin American Writers), and LIT
250 (Selected Topics in Western Literature).
Essential Duties
- • Prepare meaningful lectures and class activities for the full duration of the published class time for each class period according to academic calendar.
• Create a syllabus that meets the Provost's Syllabus Checklist requirements.
• Create assessment activities that support the stated learning outcomes for the course.
• Address student questions in a timely and helpful manner.
• Use Canvas and other technology to enhance student learning.
• Support and follow University policies and procedures as well as those for the department.
• Attend faculty meetings.
• Submit grades and materials for assessment projects on or before stated deadlines.
• Communicate student concerns with personnel in the department.
Required Qualifications
- • Master's degree in English, Literature, Bilingual/Bicultural Studies, Education, or related field.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications
- • Experience or training in teaching English Language Learners.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- • If hired for BUSCA, instructors must be available to teach from approximately 6:00-9:15 PM as it is a program for evening students.
