Adjunct, Exercise Physiology

The Department of Health Sciences invites applications for part time adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Exercise Science for the Exercise Physiology Undergraduate program. Courses may include Exercise Physiology, Personal Training, Clinical Kinesiology and Biomechanics, Motor Control and Learning, Sports Psychology, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Strength and Conditioning, and related laboratory based courses. Teaching assignments are on a semester basis and are dependent on departmental need and enrollment.

Courses may be offered in person, online, or in hybrid formats and may include lecture and laboratory components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned undergraduate courses in Exercise Physiology and related areas.
  • Develop and deliver lectures, laboratory activities, and course materials aligned with departmental learning outcomes.
  • Prepare and administer assignments, examinations, and assessments.
  • Provide timely grading and constructive feedback to students.
  • Maintain regular office hours and respond to student communication in a timely manner.
  • Submit mid-semester and final grades by the designated deadlines.
  • Collaborate with course coordinators and full-time faculty to ensure consistency and academic quality.
  • Attend occasional departmental meetings as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated academic or professional expertise in the subject area to be taught.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science or related field.
  • Prior college level teaching experience.
  • Experience with laboratory based instruction and exercise testing equipment.
  • Professional certification, such as ACSM, NSCA, or a related credential.

Appointments are part-time and contingent upon departmental need and enrollment.
