Job DescriptionThe New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Long-Term Substitute Autistic Support Teacher supporting the Lower Elementary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and modifying instruction to meet the foundational academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of young learners with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Essential Job Functions
Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated, data-driven foundational instruction tailored to students' individual goals in both pull-out (specialized) and push-in (co-taught) elementary settings.
Implement student IEPs with fidelity, ensuring all early childhood accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction (SDI) are provided in compliance with state and federal laws.
Partner closely with general education teachers, guidance counselors, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other early intervention specialists to foster a cohesive, inclusive classroom culture.
Administer formal and informal assessments, collect rigorous academic and behavioral progress monitoring data, and maintain accurate records to track growth toward IEP goals.
Implement Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), utilize age-appropriate de-escalation strategies, and nurture a safe, supportive classroom environment aligned with primary school development.
Maintain regular, professional, and proactive communication with parents, guardians, and administration regarding student growth, behavioral data, and academic progress.
Maintain active supervision of students during instructional and non-instructional periods (e.g., classroom transitions, recess, lunch, or arrival/dismissal) to ensure a safe learning environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Valid and active Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (Special Education PK-12 or PreK-8/PreK-4 depending on exact assignment).
Strong knowledge of early elementary curriculum, foundational literacy and numeracy development, inclusive practices, differentiated instruction, and positive behavior management strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Mandatory Clearances:
Current and valid PA state-mandated clearances required prior to hire.
