The English Language Trainer will deliver high-quality English language instruction to clients preparing for immigration, citizenship, or professional pathways, with a focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting lessons, assessing language proficiency, providing structured feedback, and tailoring learning materials to meet individual client needs and test requirements (e.g., IELTS, PTE, TOEFL). The trainer will collaborate with immigration practitioners to align language training with clients’ visa and settlement objectives and maintain accurate records of learner progress.
This is a part-time, on-site role based in Remote, OR, requiring regular in-person sessions and a consistent teaching schedule.
- Strong English language teaching skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment.
- Experience preparing learners for standardized English proficiency tests such as IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, or equivalent.
- Ability to design and adapt curriculum and learning materials for diverse proficiency levels and learning styles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and feedback skills to support adult learners from varied cultural backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field; relevant teaching certification (e.g., TESOL, TEFL, CELTA) is preferred.
- Prior experience teaching English in academic, corporate, or training center environments; experience with immigration-related contexts is an advantage.
- Competence with basic digital tools for lesson preparation and learner tracking; willingness to adopt new educational technologies.
- Ability to work on-site in Remote, OR, maintain a reliable schedule, and uphold professional and ethical standards consistent with legal services.
