Global Engineering Lead for Commuter, Intercity and High-Speed Rail Practice Group

Primary Responsibilities

HDR is currently looking for a company wide Engineering Lead to complement our growing Transportation Business and support the Commuter, Intercity, and High-Speed Rail Practice Group. The Commuter, Intercity, and High-Speed Rail Engineering Lead will focus on the delivery of Planning, Engineering, Program Management, Systems including power, OCS, Train Control, PTC, Structures, Facilities, and Track disciplines for Intercity and High-Speed Rail Engineering projects/programs.

In the role of Commuter, Intercity, and High-Speed Rail Engineering Lead, we will count on you to:

* Actively participate in open communication and collaboration with relevant business classes and practice groups regarding current/projected production needs; and collaborate with areas to influence staffing and expertise levels.

* Develop client and funding partner relationships in close coordination with Area Business Development Leaders, applicable business classes and practice groups, and local transit planning staff.

* Collaborate with area, market and corporate leaders to set vision for growth, and develop and implement profitable growth strategies.

* Identify and propose strategic investments and hires to drive delivery and growth.

* Identify market opportunities in close coordination with Area Business Development Leaders and develop winning pursuit strategies.

* Lead selected large and strategic pursuits. Also assist with local and national pursuits.

* Identify industry talent and work with Area and Corporate leadership to attract and retain staff.

* Oversee delivery of project services and deliverables to meet client expectations.

* Maintain standards for quality and consistency of service brand.

* Maintain qualification packages and staff skills matrix that can be readily utilized for project pursuits. Assist with the development of marketing materials including proposals.

* Lead workshare communications that result in technical excellence and enhanced utilizations

* Advocate for professional development of staff and development of production tools: best practices, technical policies and procedures, papers and presentations, Professional Associates credentialing, recognition of technical achievement, practice group activities, and automation tools.

* Coach and mentor staff; develop leaders

* Serve as a project manager or principal in charge on largest, most strategic projects and leverage HDR's global expertise to deliver quality work on time, while meeting or exceeding client expectations.

* Represent HDR at state and national level professional organizations.
