- Field Inspections: Conduct inspections of bridge structures and evaluate conditions of components such as beams, decks, bearings, and supports
- Team Leadership: Guide and support inspection staff, assign tasks, and review completed work for accuracy
- Record Management: Maintain inspection documents, forms, photographs, and system data to ensure accurate reporting
- Safety Coordination: Work with internal and external partners to safely access bridges and follow safety procedures
- Equipment Oversight: Manage inspection equipment, ensure proper maintenance, and identify needs for replacements or upgrades
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch - Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971 (before taxes)

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- This position is required to meet the qualifications for a bridge inspection team leader as defined by the current National Bridge Inspection Standards
- This position requires possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
