The Role
McKnight International is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Controls Scheduler to support large-scale transportation, infrastructure, aviation, transit, and capital improvement programs throughout the Philadelphia region.
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and evaluating complex CPM schedules across multiple projects and programs while supporting successful project delivery, schedule performance, forecasting, and program controls initiatives.
The Senior Project Controls Scheduler will work closely with owners, contractors, consultants, project managers, and executive leadership to provide schedule transparency, risk identification, performance measurement, and strategic planning support.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive Primavera P6 expertise, strong project controls knowledge, and experience supporting large-scale infrastructure and transportation construction programs. This individual must be capable of operating independently while serving as a trusted advisor to project teams and leadership.
The individual hired will represent McKnight International while supporting project controls excellence, client relationships, and successful program delivery across transportation and infrastructure programs.
RequirementsLeadership Scope
- Serve as the lead scheduling and project controls resource for assigned projects and programs
- Advise project and program leadership regarding schedule performance, forecasting, risks, and mitigation strategies
- Facilitate schedule review meetings with project teams, contractors, consultants, and owners
- Provide executive-level reporting, performance metrics, and schedule insights
- Support earned value management, risk management, and performance measurement initiatives
- Mentor and support junior schedulers and project controls personnel when required
- Promote project controls best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Represent McKnight International professionally in all client and stakeholder interactions
Essential Job Functions
Schedule Development & Program Planning
- Develop, maintain, and manage complex CPM schedules utilizing Primavera P6
- Establish baseline schedules and integrated master schedules for major capital programs
- Develop work breakdown structures (WBS), activity coding structures, and schedule standards
- Integrate project schedules across multiple contracts, projects, and program phases
- Ensure schedule alignment with project scope, procurement activities, construction sequencing, resource requirements, and milestone commitments
- Support planning efforts from project initiation through project closeout
- Perform critical path analysis and schedule health assessments
- Identify schedule risks, constraints, delays, and potential impacts to project delivery
- Conduct schedule impact analyses and what-if scenario evaluations
- Develop mitigation and recovery plans to address schedule variances
- Analyze trends and provide schedule forecasts for project and program leadership
- Support project risk management and contingency planning efforts
Contractor Schedule Review & Compliance
- Review contractor baseline schedules, monthly updates, recovery schedules, and time impact analyses
- Validate schedule logic, durations, resource assumptions, milestones, and critical path activities
- Evaluate schedule compliance with contractual requirements and project controls standards
- Identify schedule deficiencies and provide recommendations for corrective actions
- Assist with schedule-related claims avoidance and dispute resolution efforts
Reporting & Executive Communications
- Develop and present schedule performance reports for project leadership and executive stakeholders
- Prepare schedule narratives, executive summaries, dashboards, and forecasting reports
- Utilize Primavera P6, Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools to communicate project status
- Present schedule performance, risks, and recommendations during project and executive meetings
- Maintain complete and accurate project controls documentation
Program Controls & Performance Management
- Support earned value management (EVM) and project performance reporting initiatives
