Join Our Team as an ASIC & FPGA Engineering Manager where you will support over 50 different programs and research & development (R&D) efforts across military space, civil space, commercial space, missiles, missile defense platforms, satellite surveillance platforms, deep space exploration, and manned flight missions.

Location

This position requires onsite full‑time work near our Lockheed Martin Space facility. Supported locations include Sunnyvale CA, King of Prussia PA, Denver CO and Highlands Ranch CO.

Role Overview

You will lead the ASIC/FPGA team within the Silicon Solutions group and manage multiple projects, driving execution and delivery while exercising technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delegating technical and project responsibilities to the team.
  • Ensure project completion within +/-10% of schedule and budget, using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Use Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS) to report to program Control Account Managers.
  • Develop and maintain customer/program relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Define scope, requirements, and budgets; negotiate changes.
  • Prepare proposals and technical presentations.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and contracts for Silicon Solutions.
  • Assist in developing processes for customer, contractor, and business engagements.
Required Qualifications
  • 14+ years of professional experience in ASIC/FPGA/SOC design and verification.
  • Deep knowledge of modern ASIC/FPGA/SOC design and verification methods.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with hardware and software teams.
  • Business acumen for technical proposals and solutions.
  • Experience recruiting and staffing teams, including architects, designers, DSP specialists, and verifiers.
  • Situational leadership and behavioral discipline within engineering teams.
  • Project‑management mentorship for technical leads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • U.S. citizenship;
    Must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in ASIC/FPGA design, debug, and/or verification.
  • Experience leading or managing ASIC/FPGA projects.
Desired Skills
  • 4+ years of ASIC/FPGA design, debug, and/or verification.
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) using EVMS.
  • Customer‑facing experience in product or service sales, marketing, or field support.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and JIRA.
  • PMP or equivalent project‑management certification.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx Versal.
  • System design and RF/DSP experience.
  • Understanding of space-related hardware requirements.
  • Prior people‑management experience.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (preferred).
  • High EQ and self‑starter mentality.
Security Clearance

This position requires a DoD Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.

Work Schedule

Full‑time onsite with a 9x80 schedule (nine days per week with eight hours each, every other Friday off).

Pay and Benefits

Annual base salary range: $145,200 – $255,990 for the California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding major metro) areas, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC. For other states, the range will reflect the final work location. Pay rates are general guidelines; final compensation will consider experience, education, skills, and market.
