Environmental Practice Leader About the Opportunity

A nationally recognized engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Practice Leader to support the continued growth of its environmental services practice throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and the broader Mid-Atlantic region. This leadership position offers the opportunity to drive business growth, expand client relationships, mentor technical staff, and provide strategic direction for complex environmental remediation projects. The firm serves a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients and is experiencing significant growth across remediation, emerging contaminants (including PFAS), compliance, due diligence, litigation support, and environmental investigation services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of a highly respected environmental practice known for technical excellence, regulatory expertise, and collaborative project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and expand client relationships while building a strong pipeline of remediation and environmental consulting opportunities.
  • Lead the growth and strategic direction of a regional environmental practice.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key client accounts across multiple market sectors.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex site investigation and remediation projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend remedial technologies and treatment strategies.
  • Mentor, develop, and oversee teams of environmental engineers, geologists, and scientists.
  • Manage subcontractors and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Direct environmental assessment, investigation, and remediation projects from planning through execution.
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and growth efforts across the environmental practice.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of environmental consulting and site remediation experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Professional licensure or certification preferred, such as LSRP, PE, PG, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships and generating environmental consulting revenue.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and remediation programs, particularly within the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and complex remediation projects.
  • Experience overseeing multidisciplinary projects and coordinating diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong business acumen, including project financial management and resource planning.
  • Industry recognition as a technical expert or practice leader is highly desirable.
  • Experience with PFAS investigations and remediation is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites and project locations as needed.
