Lead Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Lead Drilling Engineer to oversee drilling operations in the George region. This senior position requires a deep understanding of drilling engineering principles and a proven track record of managing complex projects in the Oil & Gas sector. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all drilling activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. • Develop and manage detailed drilling programs and operational plans.
• Oversee the selection and procurement of drilling equipment and services.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards during drilling operations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the drilling engineering team.
• Monitor drilling progress, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage drilling budgets and control project costs effectively.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Demonstrated experience in managing offshore or onshore drilling campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, cementation, well control, and directional drilling.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and decision-making skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to operational sites near George .
