Cozen O'Connor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join the Private Client Services (PCS) Group in our Philadelphia office. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) client advisory. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in estate planning, trust administration, and family office advisory who thrives in a sophisticated, client-centric environment.

The PCS group works closely with high-profile families, entrepreneurs, and global citizens to structure complex estate plans, manage sensitive family dynamics, and advise on wealth strategies. This role demands exceptional legal acumen, emotional intelligence, and a refined understanding of luxury lifestyle assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced estate planning strategies, including dynasty trusts, GRATs, SLATs, and charitable vehicles.
• Advise on family office governance, fiduciary roles, and succession planning.
• Provide guidance on luxury asset succession (e.g., aircraft, yachts, ranches, and art collections).
• Collaborate with investment advisors, accountants, and insurance professionals to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Strong understanding of tax matters related to estates and trusts, including the preparation of associated tax returns.
• Represent clients in probate proceedings, and IRS audits when necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in trusts and estates law, with UHNW client exposure.
• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred.
• Strong drafting skills and familiarity with tax implications of estate structures. changing legal, tax, and regulatory rules.
• Experience with family office operations, private foundations, and philanthropic planning.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to navigate sensitive family matters.
• Commitment to excellent client service, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Pennsylvania Bar membership required.
