Job Title
Job Summary Processes work in the central office. Performs a variety of duties pertaining to the preparation and adjustment phases of a complex integrated payroll system. Responds to inquiries from employees which may require conducting research and/or contacting other offices for information.
Essential Functions- Examines records, transactions, and other related documents to obtain information.
- Reviews and analyzes problems.
- Notifies all concerned and involved parties of findings and solutions.
- Provides assistance to employees with respect to payroll related problems.
- When necessary, refers problems to appropriate District personnel for resolution; follows-up with staff in other offices to ensure that customer complaints are handled in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the complainant.
- Provides assistance to lower level processing clerks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years of full-time, paid computerized payroll processing experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of: standard payroll regulations, practices and procedures; computerized payroll processing activities.
- Demonstrated ability to: handle difficult situations in a professional and courteous manner; learn to interpret and apply contractual provisions as related to payroll operations; maintain accurate records; learn EXCEL and prepare spreadsheets; effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
