DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role involves overseeing, documenting, and drafting enforcement actions related to surface mining of coal and industrial minerals, ensuring adherence to environmental and public health regulations. Additionally, the position is tasked with managing treatment trust funds and maintaining data on water treatment liabilities. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing eFACTS data for enforcement actions and inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and reporting any discrepancies to a supervisor.
Duties also entail logging and tracking various compliance-related documents, such as civil penalties, violation notices, and compliance orders, while maintaining a detailed log of all enforcement actions. Furthermore, the role requires calculating proposed civil penalties based on violations and site conditions, negotiating assessments, and drafting consent agreements for the collection of outstanding penalties in line with departmental guidelines.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philipsburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- One year of professional experience as a Sanitarian, Air Quality Specialist, Solid Waste Specialist, or Water Quality Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- This position requires the possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
