Grants Manager A/B (Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Business Office)

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Grant Manager to join the Research Business Office in support of the research activities of PLM's Principal Investigators. Under limited supervision, this position will manage the sponsored program funds from pre-award through post-award while working with Principal Investigators on proposal development, budget development and related pre-award requirements and submission for a diverse sponsor portfolio.

The individual will also manage the post-award processes including monitoring and review of all charges, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of monthly financial reports for Principal Investigators. Consults with research faculty in the preparation of sponsored project budget and proposals; review proposals for compliance with sponsor and University policies and ensure Regulatory Affairs requirements are satisfied and that Conflict of Interest statements are submitted when required.

Provides full accounting services, reconciling budgets, processing payroll, financial reporting; monitors grant expenditures for compliance with sponsor regulations and guidelines. This position has a dotted line reporting to the Office of Research Support Services.

Job Responsibilities

The individual will also manage the post-award processes including monitoring and review of all charges, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of monthly financial reports for Principal Investigators.

Consult with research faculty in the preparation of sponsored project budget and proposals; review proposals for compliance with sponsor and University policies and ensure Regulatory Affairs requirements are satisfied and that Conflict-of-Interest statements are submitted when required. Provides full accounting services, reconciling budgets, processing payroll, and financial reporting, monitors grant expenditures for compliance with sponsor regulations and guidelines.

Position contingent upon continued funding.

The Grants Manager A will oversee and manage all aspects of the post award process for all sponsored program activities for a $10-15 million dollar portfolio. Provide input with regard to policies and help implement them. Create salary grids and assist with Effort Reporting.

The Grants Manager B will oversee a more complex portfolio with large programmatic grants and institutional training grants, managing all aspects of the post award process for all sponsored program activities for a $15-25 million dollar portfolio. Function as a resource for other grants staff to help them interpret policies and significantly contribute to departmental policy creation and implementation. Create salary grids and assist with Effort Reporting.

Assist Directors with annual budget process. Some management of grant coordinator tasks required.

Qualifications

Grants Manager A

Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Grant Manager B

Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
