Temple University College of Public Health's interprofessional culture fosters collaboration both within and outside the college. We value differences among our faculty and believe that we can better serve and understand our Philadelphia community through the diversity of our individual faculty and our disciplines. Join us in our mission to develop progressive, compassionate researchers, practitioners, and clinicians to build a better tomorrow, grounded in creating the environments and health infrastructure that will make us the healthiest nation.
We invite applications for an

Rank (assistant, associate, full professor of Instruction) depends on experience.
The Position. We seek faculty with a strong record of college teaching, including demonstrated versatility in teaching various courses, including but not limited to the areas of computer programming such as Python and R, health application development, health data management and SQL, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Clinical Decision Support Systems, and Capstone Project Mentoring. The faculty member will also participate in recruiting and reviewing applications for graduate student admissions, attending monthly health informatics meetings, and be active in health informatics program improvement and curriculum development.
Qualifications. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate (PhD or MD) in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science, Data Science, or other relevant STEM discipline with strong technical application development and R or Python skills. Applicants with a terminal MS degree, strong technical programming, AI/ML/NLP skills, and a strong record of relevant teaching experience will be considered. We seek enthusiastic, dedicated Health Informatics professionals with skills in explaining Health Information Technology, Machine Learning, and Data Mining.
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with credentials and experience. This is not a remote position and requires in-person teaching.
All faculty are active in the local community and contribute to the curriculum and the Department's committees. We value diversity and seek individuals committed to inclusivity in collaborative education and practice, prepared to join us in our commitment toward prioritizing sustainable, inclusive, and anti- oppressive practices. Rank and salary depend on experience and qualifications.
The Program. The Health Informatics program from Temple University's College of Public Health offers the Master of Science in Health Informatics, the Doctor of Philosophy in Health Informatics, and the Health Informatics Graduate Certificate. Health informatics is the application of information technology to healthcare professions to create tools and procedures that facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This field includes the knowledge, skills, and tools that enable information to be collected, managed, used, and shared to support the delivery of healthcare and promote health.
The master's program trains students to create health data systems and processes to improve healthcare delivery, patient care, and population health outcomes. The doctoral program focuses on interprofessional education and practice research and is designed for students looking to pursue a career in academia or research in health informatics innovation. The graduate certificate teaches students the practical skills they need to advance in their current career in healthcare or enter the rapidly expanding field of health informatics.
