Overview
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Director to lead organizational growth and strategic development initiatives specifically within healthcare and behavioral health service delivery. This is a fully onsite executive leadership role based in Philadelphia and requires direct, hands-on experience navigating healthcare systems, payers, regulations, and service expansion.

This role is intended for professionals who have personally led business development efforts in healthcare environments. Candidates whose experience is limited to general corporate, sales, or non-healthcare industries will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute organization-wide business development strategies within healthcare and behavioral health service lines

• Collaborate directly with the CEO and executive leadership on growth initiatives tied to clinical programs, payer relationships, and service expansion

• Identify and pursue new healthcare business opportunities, contracts, partnerships, and referral networks

• Support expansion of existing healthcare and behavioral health programs

• Lead fundraising initiatives and manage non-governmental support aligned with healthcare services

• Analyze healthcare market trends, service demand, and payer landscapes

• Represent the organization with healthcare partners, funders, managed care organizations, and community stakeholders

• Prepare executive-level reports and recommendations related to healthcare growth and sustainability

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required

• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business development or marketing
Direct business development experience in healthcare or behavioral health is required
Experience must include healthcare service growth, payer or managed care interaction, or clinical program expansion
Nonprofit or human services experience preferred but must be healthcare-based

• Experience working with managed care organizations, healthcare systems, or public sector health programs strongly preferred

Skills and Competencies

• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare operations, service delivery, and growth models

• Strong strategic planning and analytical skills within healthcare contexts

• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities

• Ability to engage executive leadership, clinical leaders, and external healthcare partners

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power Point
