Director of Social Services Job Summary:

Director of Social Services Responsibilities:

• Oversee the social services department, ensuring that all social workers and activities staff are providing high-quality care and support to residents

• Develop, implement, and evaluate social services programs that meet the unique needs of each resident

• Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, rehabilitation, and therapy, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care

• Recruit, train, and supervise social workers, activities staff, and volunteers to ensure a skilled and compassionate team

• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, vendors, and referral sources to ensure access to resources and services for residents

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards, including HIPAA and OMB

• Provide emotional support, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed to residents and their families

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committee meetings to drive continuous improvement and excellence in care

Director of Social Services Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a social services leadership role

• Strong understanding of social services principles, practices, and regulations

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

• Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
