Database Administrator, IT Consultant
Position Overview
Leidos is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator to join the Energy & Environmental Division’s USACE FUSRAP laboratory team. This on‑site position focuses on IT, LIMS, and laboratory database management.
Location:
Vandergrift, PA (on‑site).
Must pass a beryllium lymphocyte proliferation test (BeLPT) prior to accessing the customer site. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required and ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance is necessary.
Salary range: $80,000 – $100,000 annually.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, maintain, and manage the LIMS database application. Work with database management systems and tools such as Matrix Gemini and SQL, emphasizing instrument reporting, report development, and data gathering.
- Develop instrument reporting processes to incorporate sample data into the LIMS.
- Support user training and advise management on technology changes and improvements that increase laboratory efficiency.
- Maintain LIMS system backups and oversee electronic storage of laboratory records.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years laboratory experience.
- Proficiency configuring and maintaining Xybion (Autoscribe Informatics) Matrix Gemini LIMS.
- T‑SQL and/or SQL database language experience, specifically SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Technical experience with databases and user support.
- Team player, organized, reliable, conscientious, and dedicated to program support.
- Capable of multitasking, managing resources, and schedules and working several diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlines.
- Self‑motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently with good time management.
- Experience developing application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Experience developing Xybion (Autoscribe Informatics) MIDAS data transfers.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to make unanticipated changes to production deliverables with short notice as required.
- Well‑developed communication skills and ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely in both verbal and written formats.
- Strong analytical skills associated with laboratory sample analysis.
- Strong knowledge of inorganic and radio chemical methods.
- Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and guidelines for an information system.
- Experience in the development of staged laboratory data packages and deliverables.
