The Systems Administrator II (SA2) provides secure systems administration and configuration support for Department of the Navy (DON) information systems in RMF-regulated environments. This role supports implementation of system configuration changes, patching, and operating system hardening in coordination with cybersecurity assessment and compliance activities. The Systems Administrator assists with continuous monitoring, remediation of vulnerabilities, and maintenance of secure system baselines to ensure mission systems remain compliant with authorization requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Systems Administration & User Support
• Perform routine systems administration tasks to maintain system availability and performance.
• Provide technical support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Support help desk–related functions such as stand-alone workstation and laptop troubleshooting.
System Operations & Maintenance
• Assist with system configuration, updates, and patching in accordance with established procedures.
• Support user account management, permissions, and access control activities.
• Monitor systems and escalate issues as required to ensure continuity of operations. Cybersecurity Compliance
• Support implementation of cybersecurity controls and system hardening measures.
• Ensure system operations comply with DoD, DON, and DFARS cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintain accurate system documentation and support audit and inspection activities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of professional experience in systems administration.
• Experience supporting end users and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Must possess and maintain DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
