Salary Range

$41,250-$56,000. Salary is determined based on job duties, education, experience, internal equity, and department budget.

Position Summary

The Research Analyst I reports to the Assistant Vice Provost in the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (IR) and works collaboratively with the Office of Budget & Planning. This role provides research and data analysis to support university academic and financial planning, internal and external reporting, and data-informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities include applying data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization techniques to support analytical projects. You will collect, validate, and analyze university-wide data, support budget development, and contribute to data analytics initiatives like benchmarking and dashboard development.

Qualifications Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, statistics, economics, public policy, educational research, business analytics, or a related field.
  • At least one (1) year of directly related experience.
  • Experience with analytical software such as R, SPSS, SAS, Python, or similar.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Banner or other student information/ERP systems.
  • Experience with SQL, Access, Tableau, Power BI, or dashboard development tools.
  • Familiarity with budget and financial data or financial modeling.
  • Experience in an Institutional Research, Budget, or Finance office.
  • Experience with machine learning or advanced analytics.

  • Strong data management skills and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Demonstrated statistical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends if necessary.
