The Technical Project Manager 3 will lead service delivery for MachineQ's Computer Vision solutions, overseeing large-scale, multi-site deployments and driving operational excellence across field services, partners, and products. This role will take a leadership position specifically in the deployment and scalability of our growing Computer Vision solution areas – which combine cameras, edge devices, AI/ML models, data from integrated sensors, and SaaS experiences to solve real operational problems.
In this role, you'll help deliver services that help customers see, understand, and act on vision-based intelligence, shaping both near-term pilot success and long-term solution experiences. This position requires an autonomous and self-starter approach, with critical thinking and superb attention to detail being key requirements for success. The expectation is for relentless innovation, not a "we've always done it this way" approach.
The MachineQ Operations team brings IoT and Computer Vision solutions to market for large enterprises, managing implementations from initial customer engagement through installation and day-2 support. This role is responsible for leading complex service delivery across diverse customer environments, ensuring successful execution of projects involving:
- IP and analog camera installations, upgrades, and system migrations
- Edge and cloud-based video management and analytics platforms
- On-site infrastructure, including DVR/NVR systems, NAS (e.g., QNAP), network switches, and related hardware
- Coordination of internal teams, field technicians, and third-party vendors
The Technical Project Manager commands full lifecycle ownership – from planning and design through field execution and project closeout – while ensuring quality, efficiency, and scalability. Specific requirements are as follows:
- 7+ years of experience managing complex, multi-site deployments involving wired and wireless technology infrastructure, networking, and camera systems, including oversight of vendors and field installation teams.
- Expert knowledge of IP and analog camera systems, ONVIF standards, video encoders/decoders, and cloud VMS platforms.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnets, VPNs, PoE, firewalls, QoS and video-related bandwidth considerations, and AI/ML, alongside industry familiarity with NVR/DVR/NAS and camera hardware ecosystems.
- Proven experience in field deployment leadership, supervising site surveys through full rollouts, system design validation (e.g., camera placement, cabling, coverage, FOV, lighting), and management of low-voltage contractors, electricians, and other installation vendors.
- Experience with state/local licensing requirements and compliance for security/alarm and low-voltage camera installations highly preferred.
- Domain experience in retail, QSR, hospitality, or similar distributed multi-location operational environments highly preferred.
- Experience with project management and related collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Salesforce is a plus.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with customers, teammates, and leadership while always maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
Responsibilities:
- Own MachineQ's Computer Vision deployment strategy to ensure efficient and successful project outcomes.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale camera and vision intelligence implementations, including project architecture planning, resource management, field coordination, hardware movement, install execution, reporting, capacity forecasting, quality control, project closeout, and post-install support.
- Manage project scoping, design review, and planning from pre-sale customer engagement through first truck in field.
- Oversee day-to-day field operations once underway, ensuring schedule adherence, resolving risks and escalations, and optimizing vendor performance.
- Maintain and expand third-party installation partner relationships, ensuring performance, quality, continuity and scalability of field resources.
- Develop training enablement materials for technicians, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
