Overview

We are looking for a Dev Ops Engineer with a strong Java background to build, automate, and operate the infrastructure that powers our healthcare technology platform. You will be the connective tissue between development and operations — accelerating delivery pipelines, strengthening cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability of critical healthcare systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Java-based microservices and enterprise healthcare applications using tools like Git Lab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Customize CI/CD pipelines, including build stages, test automation, artifact management, and deployment strategies.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar tools).
  • Deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, ECS/EKS, RDS, and networking components.
  • Handle storage and access configurations such as S3 bucket policies, IAM roles, file permissions, and mount/server path configurations (EFS/NFS).
  • Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions, including AWS Cloud Watch, Log Insights, and integration with centralized logging tools (e.g., ELK, Splunk).
  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and deployment issues, with strong Linux administration and debugging skills.
  • Write and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Shell, or Python for deployment and operational tasks.
  • Manage source control and branching strategies using Git (Git Lab), including integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Apply security best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure, and application deployment (secrets management, IAM policies, vulnerability scanning).
  • Support containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or on-prem clusters).
  • Collaborate with Java development teams to embed Dev Ops practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and security compliance across healthcare environments.
  • Support integration with healthcare ecosystem partners.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve deployment frequency, reduce lead time, and minimize incidents.
  • Mentor developers on Dev Ops tooling, practices, and cloud-native patterns.
  • Enforce security best practices — secrets management, IAM policies, vulnerability scanning, and HIPAA compliance controls.
  • Manage configuration and environment consistency across dev, staging, and production.
  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams in an Agile delivery model.
  • Support EDI healthcare transaction pipelines (837, 834, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278) from an infrastructure and integration standpoint.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and drive post‑mortem processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of Dev Ops, platform engineering, or SRE experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong Java development background — ability to read, debug, and work alongside Java/Spring Boot codebases.
  • Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, or similar).
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud services and cloud‑native architecture patterns.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes / EKS).
  • Infrastructure‑as‑Code experience with Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security groups, VPCs, and IAM in AWS.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (Cloud Watch, Datadog, Splunk, Pager Duty, etc.).
  • Experience working in onshore/offshore delivery models.
  • Understanding of SQL, XML, JSON, REST/SOAP Web Services, and middleware technologies.
  • Strong communication skills — able to bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in a fully remote, async‑first work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare IT — Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or Commercial insurance domains.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, PHI data handling, and healthcare security standards.
  • Familiarity with EDI…
