The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. Fully remote, the role describes the tools and technologies used to collect, develop, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.

The engineer supports development of data and creation of processes, reporting, and visualizations for all Humana Healthy Horizons Medicaid Risk Adjustment, prospective programs, and interoperability. The engineer takes initiative to create innovative solutions to complex business problems, manages big data and data quality, and understands departmental, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives.

• Solves complex business problems and issues using data.
• Interpret and independently determine appropriate courses of action.
• Supports development of data, processes, reporting, and visualizations for Medicaid Risk Adjustment and related programs.
• Creates innovative solutions to complex business problems.
• Manages big data and data quality.
• Interprets department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives.
• Makes decisions regarding own work methods with minimal direction.
• Follows established guidelines and procedures.

• 2+ years of experience in Python or PySpark.
• 2+ years of experience in Jupyter Notebook environment.
• 2+ years of experience in Databricks Platform.
• 2+ years of experience in Microsoft PowerBI or other data visualization software.
• 2+ years of experience working with big data and performing root cause analysis.
• 2+ years of experience in business ownership of data processes.
• In‑depth experience in Microsoft Office including Excel formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.

• Experience in Managed Care.
• Experience in Medicaid.
• Experience in risk adjustment.
• Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques.
• Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field).

• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
• Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
