The IT Manager, Business Applications
- Institutional Advancement provides leadership for the technology solutions that support the institution's fundraising, alumni engagement, advancement services, and donor relations functions. This position manages a team responsible for Salesforce application support, business reporting, data analysis, and application development while serving as the primary technology partner for the Institutional Advancement division. Working closely with Institutional advancement leadership and stakeholders, this role ensures that business applications effectively support fundraising operations, constituent engagement, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
The Manager is responsible for prioritizing work, managing system enhancements, improving business processes, and delivering reliable technology solutions that advance the institution's mission. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participate as a developer and manager in the Ellucian Banner Advance conversion to Kindisght Ascend (Salesforce) product.
- Oversee Salesforce configuration and administration to support fundraising, alumni engagement, constituent management, and advancement operations.
- Support integration between Salesforce and enterprise systems.
- Ensure reporting solutions provide accurate, timely, and actionable information for Institutional Advancement leadership.
- Build strong partnerships with Institutional Advancement leadership and staff.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Institutional Advancement and Information Technology.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of three technical resources responsible for reporting, application support, and application development.
- Establish team priorities, assign work, and monitor project progress.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused environment emphasizing continuous improvement and professional development.
- Serve as the functional manager for Salesforce and related applications supporting Institutional Advancement.
- Coordinate application upgrades, releases, testing, and deployment activities.
- Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and internal IT teams.
- Develop and maintain application documentation, procedures, and standards.
Skills and Abilities
- Bachelors Degree and 10+ years of progressive experience.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and change management practices.
- Experience with SQL, reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar), and workflow automation.
- Knowledge of data integration technologies and APIs.
- Ability to maintain application documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate application upgrades, releases, testing, and deployment activities.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality customer service.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience supporting Institutional Advancement, fundraising, higher education, or nonprofit organizations.
- Salesforce Administrator certification.
- Experience with Advancement CRM solutions.
- Experience with project management methodologies
