DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform cleaning duties throughout the facility. Your work will involve performing deep cleaning procedures of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other areas at the center. You will mop and sweep floors, move and dust furniture, clean and sanitize restrooms, and empty and dispose of waste. Your duties will also include restocking supplies, disposing of infections waste, and cleaning debris from sidewalks including snow during the winter months.

As a member of the custodial staff, you will use and mix chemicals from label instructions, as well as clean and rearrange resident rooms prior to occupation. Additionally, you will maintain a safe working environment and report all problems and unsafe conditions to supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

* Full-time employment, 37.5 hour per week

* Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.

* Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

* You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

* Willingness and ability to work in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania

* Willing and able to work a full-time schedule

* Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing)

* Work experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital

* Work experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in patient or resident rooms or a dining room setting

* Work experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas

* Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways

* Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents

* Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors

* Custodial work experience in one of the following environments: activity or recreation room; bathroom, shower, or bathing room; cafeteria or dining room; entrance way, lobby, or common space; nursing station; patient or resident rooms; pharmacy; physical therapy rooms

Legal Requirements:

* A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

* This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

* Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
