DescriptionFlex Xray is a leading provider of x-ray inspection services focused on food safety. Are you passionate about leading a team, growth and innovation? Flex Xray is looking for a Plant Manager in the Allentown area.
The Plant Manager oversees daily plant operations, focusing on safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Key objectives include meeting production schedules, optimizing performance through continuous improvement, managing budgets, and fostering a safe, compliant, and productive work environment by leading teams and coordinating resources. Identifying productivity goals, and monitoring processes to ensure efficiency and compliance in the inspection process.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for daily plant operations.
- Establish an effective working relationship as the plant’s liaison with Flex Xray’s USDA site inspector. Communicate, coordinate, and prepare USDA required documents and forms.
- Manage OSHA compliance at the plant level.
- Establish and implement “Good Warehousing Practices” for the plant.
- Communicate with Flex Xray’s customers to submit project bids, coordinate logistics and schedules, discuss quality issues, project management and deadlines, etc.
- Update as needed or delegate to respective employees.
- Ensure plant and warehouse operations documents are compliant with federal, state and city regulatory requirements. Completes and files applicable paperwork.
- Ensures compliance with legal processes and documentation of inbound and outbound goods.
- Safeguards warehouse operations, contents, and customer inventory, by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, enforcing programs, operational and personnel policies and procedures.
- Practice proactive project management by reviewing scheduled projects and adjusting staff levels, shift times, or additional crews to accommodate customers’ requirements.
- Monitors plants operational, equipment, and personnel expenses, and make budgetary recommendations to Flex Xray’s Director of Operations.
- Maintain annual equipment reports;
Detailing lifecycle, status, operations cost per equipment, and estimated life-end of all inspection equipment, bundlers, forklifts, freezer, etc.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or related degree.
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- Specialized Training/Certifications/Licenses:
- Black belt Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5/7 yrs. managing others.
- Minimum 5/7 yrs. Working in operations.
- Food safety industry experience a plus.
- Knowledge:
