Five Below Summer Internship Program is ON! Our limited open positions for Summer 2026 focus on company strategic initiatives in the exciting environment of value-driven, fun-focused retail. We are seeking energetic, responsible go-getters with innovative ideas, ready to actively participate in company initiatives.

Location

Our alumni agree - we've got the magic balance of flexibility and immersion when our interns align with our HQ hybrid model. All applicants should plan to be in the Philadelphia area and have transportation/access to HQ (aka Wow Town) throughout the entirety of the program.

Internship Details

* 10 weeks:
June 1st
- August 7th

* Full time - 40 hours/wk

* Paid - $19.50/hr

* Hybrid model - Reporting into Wow Town Tues-Thurs

* Hands on, results driven projects. No coffee fetching here!

Project Details

Our Merchandising Intern will lead a focused analysis of high-opportunity, trend-right buys within the Fitness category, identifying product assortments and vendor partners that support a margin-rich program with strong product turns. This role blends data-driven insights with trend analysis and a deep understanding of our customer profile to deliver actionable recommendations that strengthen the category. The intern will develop a Spring-focused strategy that introduces new and exciting product opportunities tailored to the socially connected, trend-conscious customer, while optimizing assortment and pricing to drive both value and margin.

Emphasis will be placed on minimizing markdown risk through a balanced mix of key items and newness.

In addition, the intern will concept and execute a new Spring fitness endcap, including visual layout and marketing recommendations to enhance in-store presentation. Key deliverables include creating a time and action calendar (reviewed in Week 1 for alignment), conducting a marketing analysis of the category, managing vendor communication and product development artwork coordination, building a mini assortment sheet aligned to margin goals, and completing a final presentation deck to be delivered to Buyers and the DMM.

The intern will review progress weekly with the buying team to ensure alignment, pacing, and successful execution of the overall strategy.

Requirements

* Must be actively enrolled as rising Junior, Senior, Grad Student or recent Grad with a relevant background. Those studying under an associate's certificate or similar program may be considered if coursework and skills fit the individual project requirements.

* Minimum 3.0 GPA

* Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software

* Must be available for the full 10-week program as space is limited

* Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail oriented

* Active ability to problem solve & communicate effectively

* Knowledge and passion for our brand is a plus!

Desired Skills

* Degree area or experience in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Office

* Excellent attention to detail

* Effective critical thinking, problem solving, and project management

* Demonstrated professionalism
