Job Summary
Administrative Supervisor serves as the hospital operational oversight leader across all shifts, ensuring patient‑ and family‑centered care. The role facilitates patient movement, staffing, emergency management, and clinical coordination across all departments, and provides leadership and consultation in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate patient movement, staffing, emergency management (medical and facilities), and clinical coordination across all departments.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of quality care and service from a hospital‑wide perspective.
- Serve as liaison for departments lacking onsite leadership during non‑business hours.
- Support department leadership activities in managing clinical excellence and safe patient care delivery to achieve compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Encourage a patient‑centric culture by enforcing strategies, communicating feedback to staff, and partnering with the Nursing Leadership Team to improve colleague experience.
- Coordinate workforce safety and environment of care in partnership with security services and administrative leaders.
- Collaborate with resource management staffing coordinators to ensure optimal deployment of workforce resources, including scheduling, vacation, holiday requirements, and last‑minute changes.
- Provide education and professional development for the administrative nursing leadership team, ensuring completion of mandatory education, license and certification maintenance, and timely communication of operational changes.
- Lead integration and coordination of supervisors across all campuses, promoting diversity and respect for all patients, families, and colleagues.
- Interact with coworkers, visitors, and staff consistently with Jefferson values and recognize patients and their family/designated care partners in providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care.
- Communicate with and support the interprofessional team, patient, family, and designated care partners, acting as a communication liaison for all external callers to provide directions or resources.
- Patient‑ and Family‑Centered Practice: knowledge of respectful collaboration with patients, families, and care partners.
- Cultural Awareness: ability to connect effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective Communication: understanding of communication concepts, tools, and techniques, and ability to transmit, receive, and interpret information accurately.

- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required);
Master’s Degree (preferred). - Experience:
3 years of nursing experience in critical care or emergency department (required); 1 year of demonstrated leadership and management experience (preferred). - Licenses: BLS – Basic Life Support AHA (required); RN – Licensed Registered Nurse PA – State of Pennsylvania (required); ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (preferred).
- Skills & Abilities:
Patient‑centric practice, cultural awareness, effective communication, teamwork, and basic computer proficiency.
- BLS – Basic Life Support AHA (required).
- RN – Licensed Registered Nurse PA – State of Pennsylvania (required).
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred).
Work Shift:
Workday Night (United States of America) – 24 hours weekend rotations with 1 winter and 1 summer holiday requirement.
