Nurse Practitioner
The nurse practitioner performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with attending physicians and residents. As an advanced practice nurse, this role involves independent judgment and decision-making as well as consultation and collaboration with other members of the health care team. The NP enhances the continuity of quality patient care; amplifies communication between the physician, family members, and the health care team;
and extends the capabilities of the medical care team. Overall, this position is critical in leading quality and evidence-based care initiatives that will result in achieving optimal patient outcomes and improved patient satisfaction.
This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) ALL in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
Education/Training/
Experience:
- MSN required
- Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioner required
- 2 years Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
- A minimum of two years nursing experience in specific clinical area preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
- ATLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- May require PALS (pediatric advanced life support)
- Successful completion of the AEMC credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved
