The Doctor of Nursing Practice (Post-BSNtoDNP) Nurse Anesthesia program in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at La Salle University invites applicants to apply for a 9-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor who will service as the Assistant Director of the program and teach at the graduate level in the post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia Program and across other graduate level nursing courses as assigned.

The Assistant Director will support the Director and the organizational administration of the post-BSNtoDNPprogram by participating in leadership and oversight within all aspects of the program including governance, didactic and clinical curriculum, recruitment, and evaluation. This is a 9-month faculty appointment accompanied by a 12-month secondary administrative appointment as Assistant Program Director. The faculty and Assistant Program Director roles are interdependent and must be held concurrently;

continuation in each role is contingent upon service in the other. While the faculty appointment is for the academic year, the successful candidate is expected to teach in the summer term as assigned to support program needs. Summer teaching assignments, workload, and any associated compensation are determined by the University based on programmatic needs, applicable University policies, and compensation guidelines.

Under current University practice, summer teaching is compensated separately; however, such assignments and compensation are not guaranteed from year to year.

Essential duties include assisting with leadership and direction for the post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia Program ensuring compliance with COA and CCNE accreditation standards. The role also involves assuming the role of the Program Director in the Program Director's absence, assisting with the preparation of internal and external regulatory and accreditation reports, collaborating with the Program Director and Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences to determine faculty workload and to develop and monitor a budget, assisting in the development of post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia curriculum materials within regulatory and professional guidelines, participating in the refinement of the post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia Program including review of course syllabi and student evaluations of courses, overseeing outcome measurements for the post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia Program in accordance with the Nursing Program Systematic Plan of Program Evaluation, participating in marketing and recruitment efforts for the Program, assisting in the development and implementation of policies related to admission, progression, sequencing, and remediation of classroom and clinical practice components of the post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia Program, participating in recruitment, selection, and enrollment of students, participating in the monitoring of post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia student progression through formative and summative evaluation procedures, assisting in the attainment of affiliation agreements/contracts for off-campus clinical sites as well as off-campus clinical coordinators and preceptors, teaching at the graduate level in the post-BSNtoDNPNurse Anesthesia Program and across other graduate level nursing courses as assigned;

24 credits for the academic year, with 6 credit load reduction for administrative role, aiding in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the simulation curriculum, mentoring students completing the DNP Project, and maintaining competency within anesthesia practice area.

Secondary responsibilities include teaching during the summer term, as assigned to support program needs, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include five or more years of clinical experience in the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) role, post-licensure master's or doctoral degree with a Nurse Anesthesia major from a regionally accredited institution and nationally accredited nurse anesthesia program (or equivalent) with graduate preparation in the basic and clinical sciences relevant to nurse anesthesia practice, demonstrated record of professional and clinical experience, instruction (teaching), curriculum, evaluation development, and scholarship, knowledge of current CRNA practice and related professional issues, current knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements for nurse anesthesia educational programs, earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an institution of higher education accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred, a current unencumbered license to practice as a registered professional nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Pennsylvania, current CRNA certification by the NBCRNA, demonstrated experience working in and…
