Level1 Heart Attack Program (L1
HAP):
Rotation of1‑2 nights per week and every4th weekend. Response time is30minutes for patients requiring acute heart attack care. RN experience with Cardiac Cath, Telemetry, ED, and/or ICU experience is strongly preferred.
- The Cardiac Cath RN primarily specializes in the care of patients undergoing invasive cardiac catheterization and/or invasive peripheral catheterization.
- Record, monitor and assess hemodynamic data collected during catheterizations.
- Complete all patient records accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Establish and maintain rapport with patients throughout procedure.
- Continuously monitor patient’s physiologic and psychological status throughout procedure.
- Initiate and maintain IV access.
- Administer all ordered medications, intravenous drips and emergency medications before, during and after procedure.
- Operate specialized equipment used in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in a safe and efficient manner.
- Respond appropriately to all emergency situations within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
- Initiate life support techniques in the event of a cardiac and respiratory arrest including CPR, drug administration, defibrillation, temporary pacemaker insertion, intra‑aortic balloon pump insertion and airway management.
- Assess patient for complications related to medications or procedures and respond appropriately.
- Discontinue arterial and venous access safely through use of manual compression or available compression devices.
- Assist physician with use of invasive closure devices.
$15,000 recruitment loan paid over 2 years. Certain stipulations do apply.
QualificationsEducation:
Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (Required)
Experience:
Minimum of2years‑Nursing (Preferred)
Certification(s) and License(s):
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within6months – American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body, Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – of Pennsylvania
